Pergolas built for the place.
Naples does not need another off-the-shelf pergola. It needs a structure that answers to the house, the view, the gulf climate, and a hurricane season every owner has been through. We design and build pergolas as part of the broader landscape composition, the same team from first sketch through final finish.

Modern aluminum pergolas, engineered for the gulf.
Our pergolas are built primarily in luxury aluminum, for style, durability, and all-season performance. Motorized louvered roofs and a sleek, low-maintenance profile, each structure rated to withstand the highest hurricane-force winds, ideal for patios, pools, lanais, outdoor kitchens, and rooftops across Southwest Florida.
Florida's intense sun and sudden rain can limit how you enjoy your outdoor space. Adjustable louvers and integrated gutters give you flexible shade, ventilation, and full rain protection at the touch of a button, plus add-ons like motorized bug screens, ceiling fans, heaters, misting, and built-in speakers. When a project calls for warmth, we also build solid-roof covered patios and custom wood or teak structures.
Why choose an Azenco pergola for your Florida outdoor space?
A premium alternative to a basic patio cover, an Azenco aluminum louvered pergola is designed to enhance comfort, curb appeal, resale value, and year-round outdoor living, engineered specifically for the way Florida weather actually behaves.
Louvered roof pergolas.
Our most popular structure, motorized aluminum louvered roofs, including the Azenco R-BLADE system, that open for shade and airflow and close tight against a storm. Rain sensors, integrated gutters, and full app control, built for pool decks, lanais, and outdoor kitchens across Naples and Southwest Florida.

Engineered down to the louver.
- 10-inch wide louvers pivot to open from the end, letting more light through, with no visible light gaps when closed.
- Smart sensors for wind, rain, and temperature let the louvers adapt automatically to changing weather.
- Dual-wall louvers add strength and dampen the sound of rainfall, with a 15-foot span, the longest available on the market.
- Integrated beams and gutters make installation faster and cleaner.
- Accessory beams provide support for fans, lighting fixtures, infrared heaters, and more.
- RGB-W LED light strips add a soft, dimmable glow around the perimeter in a range of colors, including warm white.
- Full control by remote, wall panel, or app, backed by a manufacturer warranty.
Solid roof pergolas & covered patios.
When the goal is full, permanent shade and a true outdoor room, a solid roof, such as the Azenco R-SHADE system, delivers dry cover year-round. Tongue-and-groove and wood-look ceilings, integrated downlighting, fan-ready electrical, and, when a project calls for natural warmth, custom wood and teak.

Scope of work.
Aluminum louvered pergolas
Our signature build. Motorized louvered roofs that close in a storm and open for shade-on-demand. Rain sensors, integrated gutters, powered or app control. Low-maintenance and hurricane-rated.
Solid-roof covered patios
Tongue-and-groove and wood-look ceilings, integrated downlighting, fan-ready electrical, dry shade for entertaining year-round.
Custom wood & teak
For the projects that want natural warmth, teak and hardwood, detail-cut joinery, hand-finished surfaces. Available on request, though most Florida clients choose aluminum for its longevity.
Hurricane-engineered everything
Naples permits require it. We design for it from day one. Properly engineered footings, hurricane straps, code-rated fasteners, and Miami-Dade NOA approved options.
Integration with the broader landscape
A pergola is not an object. It is part of the composition, designed in relationship to the pool, the deck, the planting, and the view corridor, not bolted on later.
Common questions.
What are your pergolas made of?
Most of our pergolas are luxury aluminum with motorized louvered roofs, chosen for their clean modern look and low-maintenance durability in the Florida climate. Aluminum will not rot, warp, or need refinishing in the gulf air. We also build solid-roof covered patios and, when a project calls for natural warmth, custom wood and teak.
Are your aluminum pergolas hurricane-rated for Florida?
Yes. Our aluminum louvered pergolas are engineered for high-wind coastal conditions and meet or exceed Collier County wind-load requirements, with Miami-Dade NOA approved options available. Engineered footings, hurricane straps, code-rated fasteners. This is non-negotiable on the gulf coast.
What is a motorized louvered roof pergola?
A louvered roof has adjustable aluminum blades that rotate open for sunlight and airflow or close for full shade and rain protection, controlled by remote, wall panel, or app. Built-in gutters direct water away from the patio, outdoor kitchen, or pool deck. Particularly useful over pool decks and outdoor kitchens.
Do you build Azenco pergolas in Southwest Florida?
Yes. We design and install premium Azenco aluminum louvered pergolas for patios, pools, lanais, and outdoor kitchens across Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, and Marco Island.
Why work with Knäak Design Group instead of buying a pergola from a dealer?
A pergola is only one piece of the outdoor environment. We design the structure in relationship to the pool, deck, pavers, lighting, fans, screens, outdoor kitchen, and planting, then handle the engineering, permitting, and HOA approvals so it is placed, proportioned, and built correctly the first time. The result is a complete outdoor living space, not a kit dropped onto a patio.
How long does a custom pergola project take?
From first site walk through final installation, typically four to eight months on a standalone project. Permitting in Naples can add weeks. Faster when the pergola is folded into a larger build.
